Group Lessons at Brigsteer, for Kendal and surrounding areas,
from Beginner to Intermediate

We have a qualified teacher and a teaching assistant attending most classes. These are partner dances so ideally partners are required but if solo, you re most welcome to attend.

Latin Dancers

Each month we teach two dances during each beginners session followed by supervised practice.

 

Please note each dance for beginners is an 8 week course as listed below.

New starters are welcome to join during the first week each month when we start two new dances.

If you cannot come to your usual venue, you are welcome to attend our other venue. We have dancers attending both venues every week.

Every THURSDAY at:  Brigsteer Village Hall, Underbarrow Road, Brigsteer, LA8 8AL

 

Beginners 1 Ballroom/Latin          6.30 pm - 7.20 pm
Social dance and practice            7.20 pm - 7.30 pm

Beginners 2 Ballroom/Latin          7.30 pm - 8.20 pm

Social dance and practice            8.20 pm - 8.30 pm

Improvers/Intermediate                 8.30 pm - 9.45 pm  (with social practice)

 

New starters accepted on the 1st Thursday of each month when we start two new dances.

Beginners, after 'Joining a Class', you can now buy your first four classes online.

WHAT TO WEAR

Beginners often ask what to wear - wear casual comfortable clothes. Shoes, if not ballroom or Latin, should not have rubber or plastic soles, leather is better. Ladies heels should not be more than 2.5 inches high.

🌟 LEVEL 1 – Let's Dance! (Absolute Beginners Welcome)
✨ Two new dances every month!

Ready to take your first steps on the dance floor? This fun, relaxed class is perfect for absolute beginners! Learn the basics of popular Ballroom and Latin dances in a friendly, social setting. We’ll guide you through simple steps and fundamental technique to get you moving with confidence and most importantly, having fun! New dancers can join on the first Tuesday of each month, don't miss your chance to jump in!

🌟 LEVEL 2 – Stepping It Up!
Two dances every month - just like Level 1, but with a little more flair!
This class is for dancers who already know the basic steps and want to build on their skills. We’ll introduce Bronze Medal and Beginner Competition-level technique in both Ballroom and Latin styles while still keeping it fun and social. Whether you’re aiming for the spotlight or just want to glide across the floor with grace, this class is your next move!

🌟 IMPROVERS / INTERMEDIATE - Dance Like You Mean It
Take your dancing to the next level! These technique-focused classes are for dancers with experience who want to refine their style, learn new figures, and develop a polished performance. Ideal for those who have completed Level 2 or have prior dance training, this is where you’ll truly start to look and feel like a dancer. Let’s make those moves shine!
