About Chris and Dance
From Highland Roots to Ballroom Excellence:
Chris’s journey into the world of dance began at just
eight years old with Scottish Country Dancing, before
quickly progressing into the athletic and expressive
world of Highland Dance. Even at a young age, Chris
demonstrated exceptional talent securing numerous
competition wins across the London area performing
the iconic Highland Sword Dance, complete with live
piping, at prestigious events throughout the region.
As a teenager, Chris expanded his repertoire into the
world of ballroom and Latin dance. With remarkable speed and dedication, he progressed through the medal system, achieving up to a Gold Bar with distinction. By the age of 19, Chris had turned professional, earning highly respected teaching qualifications in both Ballroom and Latin disciplines from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) and the International Dance Masters Association (now IDTA). His commitment to excellence was evident in the distinctions awarded with his certifications.
During this time, Chris also taught at the esteemed Norman Darvill School of Dance in High Wycombe, further honing his teaching skills and deepening his impact in the dance community.
Chris’s passion for movement extends beyond the ballroom floor. He holds qualifications in ice dance and pair skating, showcasing a unique versatility across disciplines. A talented musician as well, Chris plays both piano and keyboards, bringing a keen musicality to his dance and instruction.
Never one to stop learning, Chris recently completed advanced training with world professional finalists in both Standard Ballroom and Latin. He continues to refine his craft through guidance from elite-level coaches and accomplished competitive dancers.
Supporting Chris in all classes are two highly qualified and experienced dance assistants. With strong teaching backgrounds and a shared passion for excellence, they are an integral part of delivering high-quality instruction and an engaging, supportive learning environment.

Dance is for everyone no matter what age or part of the world you come from. It is a most sociable way to get fit while enjoying yourself.
Our emphasis is on looking good on the dance floor.
Make friends while learning coordination skills keeping the brain and the body agile in the best physical art form.
We encourage absolute beginners the ones with 2 left feet, who are often surprised at how quickly they can progress with the right approach.
We start beginners with the most popular social style of ballroom dances. When confident in these, we introduce standard ballroom as danced competitively throughout the world.
Our Latin classes follow on from the ballroom session at the same level to enable both styles to be danced.
Our intermediate ballroom class caters for those who are experienced and wish to learn more advanced figures and combinations, and improve technique to a high standard.
We hope to see you on the dance floor soon!
